The North Highlands is an outdoor enthusiasts playground, with fascinating walking spots, exhilarating biking trails and surfing spots round every corner, there are plenty options to choose from and if you’re not too confident currently, there’s lots of clubs you can join to improve your skills as well as meeting like minded people.
The North Highlands offers local residents and visitors a wide variety of things to do. The impressive golden beaches are certainly worth a visit and are never too far away. The beaches have the most stunning views and are surrounded by high sand dunes and cliffs with small, deep caves. You’ll often see keen equestrians riding along the beach which makes for a mesmerising sight.
If you’re more of an indoor person, there are plenty of warm and cosy activities including craft groups and classes, baking clubs and writing groups. Many artists and writers say how inspired they are by our wee corner of the world and we can see why. Each season brings something special to Caithness and Sutherland sparking new inspirations and sending creative imagination into overdrive.
